9G PRE-ARRANGED EMPLOYEE COMMERCIAL VISA
The 9g pre-arranged employee commercial visa lets a foreign national stay and work in the Philippines for a duration permitted by the Bureau of Immigration, that corresponds with his/her contract of employment.
Foreigners who are moving to the Philippines to persist in any legitimate occupation, be it for wages/salary or any other sorts of compensation are eligible to apply for this visa.
Before applying, one must have secured an Alien Employment Permit issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The 9g work visa also enables the holder multiple entries and exits while working with a firm registered to do business and existing under the Philippines laws.
REQUIREMENTS FOR 9G PRE-ARRANGED EMPLOYEE COMMERCIAL VISA
The employer, an allowed representative, and/or accredited agents shall present the complete documentary requirements as below:
- Letter of request addressed to the Commissioner from the applicant and the petitioner.
- Duly Notarized Application form.
- Photocopy of passport bio-page and latest admission with valid, authorized stay.
- Photocopy of Employment Contract, Secretary’s Certificate of Election, Appointment or Assignment of the applicant, or equivalent document
- For Corporations or Partnerships, photocopies of: i. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Certificate of Registration; ii. Articles of Incorporation; iii. General Information Sheet (GIS) for the current year stamped received by the SEC;
- For Single Proprietorships, photocopies of [i]. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Certificate of Registration of Business Name; [ii]. Mayor’s Permit;
- Photocopy of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE); and the actual publication of the applicant’s approved AEP or newspaper.
- Notarized certification of the number of foreign and Filipino employees from the petitioning company
- Accredited Liaison/Agent
- Guarantee Letter
PROCESSING PERIOD
- The Processing time along with the Alien Employment Permit takes between 2-3 months to complete.
VALIDITY
- A 9 (G) commercial is valid for 1-3 years and one can extend up to three years at a time, resting on the term of the employment contract.
- The foreign national can also extend this visa multiple times.
The validity, however, cannot surpass the term granted following the AEP issued by the DOLE.
Stepwise process for the 9g Application.
9g Application
- Filing, and submission of an accomplished document as mentioned above in the requirements.
9g Hearing/Capture/Biometrics.
- After the step 1, the BOI issue a hearing date for the capturing and biometrics for the application.
- Please note that failure to appear on the proposed date may lead to penalty.
9g Agenda
- One can find the agenda in the BOI official website to see the status of the application.
9g Implementation
- Once the name appears on the agenda list, the foreign national has to submit original passport for implementing the visa.
9g Release I-card.
- The last state of the process, and can visit the immigration office for the collection of ACR Cards.
EXTENSION OF 9G PRE-ARRANGED EMPLOYEE COMMERCIAL VISA
Foreign nationals who are existing holders of a Pre-arranged Employee–Commercial Visa and prefer to proceed to their employment in the Philippines.
For visa extension, the same biometric data previously captured during the 9g Visa conversion applies, hence no further need for capturing.
One can renew the 9g application two months before the expiration.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Passport.
- ACR card.
- Photocopies of I-cards (back to back)
- Alien Employment Permit card
- Newspaper.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If the foreign employee needs to begin his/her work through a time which the visa process is in motion, he/she should take the other option of obtaining the Provisional Work Permit (PWP).
